Old pond

Well I started by giving away the ducks and the chickens, and I made three ponds in cement (first image). The plane was, the water left the big pond passed thru the filters drained for a stream, then goes to a  a round pond with 1 meter diameter, planted with water jacinth, followed by another one with 2.5 meters of diameter and 50 cm of height, that had elodeas, jacinths, lilipads, Egypt papyruses  and carassius then the water follow small stream that finished in a water-fall that fell in the main pond of 3.5x3.5 and 90 cm of depth.

Foram três anos espectaculares com aguas sempre limpas e seis kois satisfeitos.

1 Sushui, 1 Hikarimono Ogon 1 Kohaku Tancho, 1 asagui e 2 orenji

The carassius began to reproduce and went to the main pond.

As the cement walls began to crack and I began to amend them. I get tired and I had decided to build another pond.

Everything started 7 years ago with a small premolded pvc pond with 1 meter, and with the purchase of a Hikarimono Ogon (in that time I didn't knew what I had).

Quickly I realise that the pond was not big enough.

Then I went to another project. To excavate the ground for a pond with  3x3 meters covered with  pvc liner. By ignorance I made a lot of mistakes.

The pond had only 50 cm depth. I placed filters (Trickle towers) that I had idealized and made a small stream with a water-fall.

It was all good until the o moment when I decided to ruin the balance introducing a couple Mandarin ducks that pollute the water and of some chickens to give some painting idyllic color to the garden.

The painting idyllic color almost cost me all my three kois, because I had a explosion of rats that ate the chicken food and the liner too.
